These Photography courses are a introduction to the basics & principles in photography.
Instructor – Doug Sturgeon , a Fine-Art . Wedding and Portrait photographer with more than 20 years of experience. Doug is well known in the Toronto photography industry by his peers & clients . Doug has also traveled world wide on assignments & thus has collections of photographs of over 30 country’s. This will be Doug’s 15th year of running Eclipse Photography in Toronto.

- Our 6 week program is a start from scratch workshop which takes beginning photographers from the basics of exposure, manipulation of depth of field, and shutter speed to the ultimate goal of creating more dynamic photographs with their digital SLR camera. Over the course of 6 weeks, we will build a solid technical foundation that will enable us to take the photographs we’ve always dreamed of.
- Participants will go on location with Doug & apply techniques to become more comfortable with your camera. We will then go into the studio & learn from our images taken. Also we will print 1 favorite photo of yours from the location shoots.
- Week #1 Introduction -Exposure Modes, Metering Modes, ISO, JPG versus RAW
- Week #2 Location shoot
- Week #3 Eclipse Studio- Critique + Composition, Camera Technique,Understanding Light
- Week #4 Location shoot
- Week #5 Eclipse Studio -Critique + Flash, Hard Drive Storage,Digital Image Processing

On the first day you will learn Exposure Modes, Metering Modes, ISO, JPG vs RAW, Camera Technique, Understanding Light and Composition. On the 2nd day we will take you on location to put into practice what you learned on the 1st day. We will then come back to the studio & process/critique your images and then finally print your favorite image to go home with.
All in class instruction will take place at 1001 Roselawn Avenue #433 Toronto, On M6B 4M4 416-256-3000 Directions will be given for the location shoot’s & if transportation is needed we will try to accommodate you.

- Requirements – No experience is necessary as these are all introductory courses.All students should bring their DSLR cameras to class & location workshops.
- Registration-is based on a 1st come 1st serve policy. We do not hold spaces for anyone as the class sizes are a maximum 8 students. Please note that full payment is required upon registration.The registration amount is non-refundable as we hold the spot for you while others may have been turned away for the specific course. If you need to cancel we will use your registration for a future class or you can gift it to someone else. All classes begin at the times specified. Eclipse Photography Inc. reserves the right to cancel, postpone the courses or change the location of shoots or content of the photography courses. If Eclipse Photography Inc. has to cancel or change the dates(s) we will return the registration fee in full, if we cannot accommodate you in any future courses.
